Passing The Mic offers opportunities to train with professional West Coast Swing MCs, DJs, and Judges at full-weekend WCS dance events. There are no level requirements for the apprentice program, and current WSDC level is not a factor in considering applicants. The positions available differ depending on the event, and all available positions are listed below under each event’s subsection.

After you apply, your application will be anonymized along with all other applicants of that same position and the mentor of that field will select a short list of applicants who will move on to the interview stage. These interviews will be a chance for the mentors to get 1-on-1 time getting to know each short-listed applicant and dive into their goals, experience, and ambitions. After the interviews are completed, the official Apprentices will be selected and announced for the event!

Each Apprentice will receive the following as part of their awarded role:

• One weekend pass to the event they will be apprenticing at

• Pre-event, mid-event, and post-event mentorship and training with their respective mentor

• Real-world experience in their respective role at a full-weekend West Coast Swing dance event
